Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Penza Region Roman Kalentyev spoke at the 11th Dairy Sessions event in Moscow.

Roman Kalentiev spoke in the 2nd section of the event "Best regional practices for the development of the dairy industry", presenting the experience of the Penza region in the development of this area. The section was moderated by Soyuzmoloko General DIRECTOR Artem Belov.

Roman Kalentiev told his colleagues and participants of the event about how the industry is developing and supported in the Penza region. “According to the results of 2020, in farms of all categories, gross MILK production amounted to 384.2 thousand tons, which is 11.6% higher than in 2019. The dynamics of the indicator is obvious: in 2019, milk production in the region in the commodity sector amounted to 223.9 thousand tons, in 2020 - 266.4 thousand tons. The productivity of the dairy herd in agricultural enterprises at the end of 2020 amounted to 8406 kg of milk. In terms of the increase in milk yield per cow in agricultural organizations, the region is the leader in the Volga Federal District with an indicator of 114.2%,” said Roman Kalentiev.

As part of the event, the HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture spoke about the current development of animal husbandry, presenting an analysis of the effectiveness of existing dairy complexes with different livestock.

Roman Kalentiev also spoke about measures to support the industry in the region. He shared his experience in the development of large holdings: “Just yesterday, the opening of the second phase of the dairy complex of our large milk producer Rusmolco, one of the TOP-3 largest milk producers in RUSSIA, was carried out as part of the expansion of the holding project to good pace of implementation of the project of Agro-Industrial Enterprise Vostok Agro LLC for the construction of a complex for 2250 heads of dairy herds.

Roman Kalentiev emphasized that in 2021 the region is set to maintain its leading position in the Volga Federal District in terms of milk yield per cow and reach a level of at least 9,000 kg. it is also expected to increase milk production by 8% by 2023.

Dairy sessions are quarterly meetings of heads of farms and factories, representatives of major international and Russian companies, organized by IA Milknews and Soyuzmoloko. Within the framework of the sessions, leading domestic and world experts discuss global trends in production, processing and demand together with business, and also share their experience in working in the domestic and foreign markets. More than 300 dairy market companies took an active part in discussing the latest legislative initiatives and industry trends, including Hochland Russland, EkoNiva, Ehrmann, Danone, PepsiCo, Karat, Molsib, Parmalat, Sernur Cheese Plant, Elan Butter and Cheese Plant, Milkom, Rusmolko, Kieselmann Rus, DeLaval, KPMG, Auchan, MSD and many others.
