The working groups of the Tomsk delegation, within the framework of the interregional agro-industrial forum "Siberian Field Day", got acquainted with the leading enterprises of the Altai Territory.
Complex Agro LLC is a plant with a full cycle of production of innovative equipment for agriculture. These are elevators, equipment for the preparation and application of liquid fertilizers. The company also supplies gas and gas equipment, sells microfertilizers. During the tour, the experts assessed the work of the workshop for the production of seeders and liquidizers.
The Altai forest selection and seed center of KAU "Altailes" has been operating since 2012 and is the only one beyond the Urals and one of six such centers in RUSSIA. In addition to reforestation, he is engaged in research in a genetic laboratory, lays seeds for storage and sells coniferous and ornamental seedlings - about seven million seedlings and two tons of seeds for breeding per year. The uniqueness lies in the fact that all seedlings have a closed root system, which requires a minimum adaptation period after planting. Since the seedlings are grown in greenhouses and not in the ground, they grow in just three months instead of three years.
The next point of the route was Vladimir Ustinov's peasant farm. The farm is engaged in the production of elite seeds of grain and leguminous crops. Today, three varieties of wheat seeds are grown here - Altaiskaya 70, Altaiskaya 75, Altaiskaya 325; two varieties of buckwheat seeds - Dasha, Nine and five varieties of peas - Altai mustachioed, Rocket, Lamanche, Velvet and Astronaut. The total area of crops is more than 3.5 thousand hectares. Marketable grain is grown from the seed grain offered for sale on their fields. The average grain yield in 2022 was 52 centners per hectare. The entire technological process of production in the farm of Vladimir Igorevich is mechanized and automated. Computer diagnostics and remote maintenance of equipment, automatic supply of grain from storage facilities to the drying complex have been introduced.
Further, the experts visited Anatoly Ivanov's farm, where the farmer grows crops and produces his own granulated fertilizer - ammonium sulfate. For almost 30 years, the cultivated areas of peasant farms have expanded from 146 hectares to 7.8 thousand. The company shows consistently high production and economic performance. In 2021, the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops exceeded 13 thousand tons with an average yield of 34 centners per hectare. One of the reasons for the high results of the economy in field crops is the constant workwith seed stock. According to the HEAD, he and his specialists have been working very seriously with varieties for several years, namely, they find the optimally acceptable variety and only then use it on a large scale. Within the next three years, the farm of Anatoly Ivanov plans to launch a modern seed plant. The project will be implemented in stages - part of the equipment for it has already been purchased.
The delegation completed the trip in two Altai nurseries - in the Institute of Horticulture named after Mikhail Lisavenko and the company "Altai Flowers".
Institute of Horticulture named after M.A. Lisavenko is conducting research on 12 fruit and berry crops: APPLE, pear, plum, cherry, sea buckthorn, currant, raspberry, strawberry, honeysuckle, viburnum, gooseberry, grapes. Breeders have created 390 varieties of fruit and berry crops and 61 varieties of flowers. The state register includes 232 varieties selected by the Institute, of which 182 are fruit and berry, 50 are ornamental crops.
For apple and pear, the Institute has bred winter-hardy varieties of different ripening periods, good taste, with fruit weight from 30 to 120 g of universal purpose. Winter-hardy varieties of cherries and plums have been developed. Blackcurrant breeding is carried out on a large scale and very successfully. For the first time in the world, self-fertile varieties have been bred, the best of them are zoned in many regions of Russia. The world's first varieties of sea buckthorn and viburnum were created, and together with the Bakchar stronghold of northern horticulture, honeysuckle, which became widespread, was introduced into the horticultural culture of chokeberry. Also, the scientific team has developed science-based technologies for the cultivation of apple, sea buckthorn, currant, honeysuckle, and other crops. The Institute has the appropriate material and technical base and conducts researchin four soil-climatic zones (mid- and low-mountain, forest-steppe and subtaiga) of Altai and Tomsk region, coordinates scientific research on horticulture in Siberia.
The enterprise "Flowers of Altai" grows and sells planting material for fruit and berry, flower and ornamental crops and fruits of sea buckthorn, honeysuckle and apples. The use of advanced technologies in production and constant communication with scientists-breeders of the Institute named after M.A. Lisavenko allows you to constantly expand the species and varietal assortment of planting material. In the total volume of production, seedlings of fruit crops make up 60 thousand pieces, berry and forest ornamental crops - 45 thousand pieces, harvesting of sea buckthorn fruits - 60 tons. The varietal material undergoes a thorough varietal identification and quality control, as a result of which the seedlings receive certification and guarantee varietal purity for buyers.
