PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to publish videos from the AgroExpedition “Agriculture of Kazakhstan”. In this video we will show a flock of bright and first-coated Kazakh fat-tailed coarse-wool sheep on autumn pastures
Today filming is taking place in the foothills of the Dzhungar Alatau near the village of Leps. There is a flock of Kazakh rough-wool sheep here. By the way, not far from this place the international agricultural exhibition “LEPSI” is taking place, which this year brought together more than 15 thousand people.
The flock that we are shown consists of females and first-bred females. The Kazakh fat-tailed coarse-haired breed is one of the most common in Kazakhstan; it has good adaptation qualities to the sharply continental climate. However, this breed is slightly inferior in live weight to the Edilbaev breed.
Therefore, in order to improve productive quality, the Alakol-Agro enterprise crossbreeds the Kazakh fat-tailed coarse-haired breed with the Edilbaevskaya breed. Currently, the Edilbaevskaya breed is the hardiest, largest and most unpretentious in Kazakhstan.
All the rams were captured in mid-September. In this case, the eggs from this flock will be swapped with the eggs from another flock. This is due to the fact that the yams will already graze like adults, and they will not suck MILK from the queens, because their queens will be in another flock. This method is necessary so that ewes recover faster after lambing.
The average salary of a shepherd at the Alakol-Agro enterprise is 400 tenge per HEAD per month, while the company plans to increase the payment to 600-800 tenge.
During control weighing, the current year’s lambs showed a weight of 37 to 45 kg, which is 4-5 kg above the norm, and according to all parameters, these sheep can be classified as “Elite” class, which allows us to conclude that the productivity of Kazakh sheep has increased fat-tailed coarse-haired breed when crossed with the Edilbaevskaya breed. When weighed, the weight of the ewes turned out to be 77 kilograms, and the weight of the ewes of the current year of birth was 45 kilograms. For one hundred queens in this flock, the flock produced 85 lambs at the time of culling, which is a good indicator for first-time females.
