In 2021, a record grain harvest was obtained in the Novosibirsk Region, more than half of which is a surplus. Novosibirsk agrarians are ready to deliver surplus grain outside the region. How the elevator industry copes with the storage of the increased volume of grain and how actively the region is shipping it was told during a press tour to the Kargat elevator.
The material and technical base for grain storage in the Novosibirsk region is represented by 30 elevators and grain-receiving enterprises (including 21 linear ones) with a total capacity for one-time grain storage of 1,727 thousand tons. In addition, agricultural organizations have 2816 grain warehouses for 3178 thousand tons of one-time storage.
“The total grain storage capacity in the Novosibirsk region is now 4.9 million tons, and over the past 5 years it has increased by 427 thousand tons. This volume of storage is more than enough even for such a record harvest that was harvested in 2021 - we received about 3.38 million tons of grain in weight after refinement," said Viktor Apanasenko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region.
The internal demand of the region for grain, although growing in recent years, is only half of this volume. The rest - 1.8 million tons will be sold to other regions of the Russian Federation and for EXPORT. And grain supplies, according to the deputy minister, are very active. So, in December 2021, the region shipped up to 90 wagons of grain per day. During the New Year's January holidays, 255 wagons were shipped - deliveries did not stop on weekends. In total, in September-December 2021, 660 thousand tons of new crop grains and oilseeds were exported outside the region by rail, which is 1.7 times higher than the same period last year, of which 322 thousand tons were sent for export.
“Thanks to state support for the transportation of products, the opportunities for regional producers to expand the production of agricultural products are significantly increasing,” Viktor Apanasenko emphasized. - Provision of support under the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 406 continues, which allows shippers to sell grain more efficiently. More than 185,000 tons of grain were exported from the Novosibirsk Region in 2021 at a reduced rate, the amount of support provided amounted to more than 300 million rubles.”
The Kargat elevator, which the journalists visited, is one of the oldest in the region - its floor tanks were built in 1956.
“This year we received a crop of about 60 thousand tons, of which we have already shipped about 30 thousand tons by road and rail,” said Vladimir Polyakov, Executive DIRECTOR of Kargatsky Elevator JSC. “Thanks to the attraction of investment funds, production at the elevator was modernized, equipment was purchased that can significantly reduce the time for laboratory research of grain quality, gasification of the grain drying elevator was carried out, and the roof was replaced.”
The location of the elevator allows the farms of Kargatsky, Dovolensky, Kochkovsky, Ordynsky and other regions to use its services. And the main directions of shipment are the western and central regions of the country, including the regions of the Urals and the Volga region most affected by the drought in 2021. The elevator also supplies grain to several foreign countries.
In general, from the territory of the Novosibirsk region, according to Viktor Apanasenko, grain is now exported to Kazakhstan, CHINA , Latvia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, as well as to Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Turkey, Japan, Turkmenistan, Great Britain , Czech Republic, Poland and Malaysia.
