PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to explore Kazakhstan's agriculture . This time, we're at the Antigen enterprise in the Almaty region, Karasai district, Abay village.
Antigen Research and Production Enterprise LLP is a Kazakhstani research and production company operating at the intersection of biotechnology, veterinary science, and medicine. We specialize in creating high-quality immunobiological products and diagnostic test systems that meet the strictest international GMP, GLP, and GDP standards. The company's products are developed with the unique epidemiological conditions of the region in mind and are successfully used both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

It is at this enterprise that we will study camel milk and meat obtained from the farm of TOO Alakol-Agro, Alakol district, Zhetysu region.

During our visit to the Antigen Research and Production Enterprise, I had the honor of speaking with its director, Nurlan Nurolldinovich Akhmetsadykov. He explained that the company, founded in 1998, initially specialized in the development of veterinary drugs and today produces approximately twenty types of vaccines and twenty-five diagnostic systems for animals. However, their scope of activities is much broader and includes an accredited testing center for food safety and medical device research, with plans to establish the production of medical immunobiological products. It was here, at Antigen, that we brought samples of meat and shubat from the Alakol-Agro farm for a comprehensive study , which we were about to witness. The company employs 120 people, approximately half of whom hold academic degrees in various fields, from veterinary science to pharmaceuticals.

We visited various laboratories, where we were shown in detail the processes used to study the samples we'd brought. I was genuinely impressed by what I saw—the state-of-the-art equipment and, most importantly, the highly qualified staff. Nurlan Nurolldinovich shared that such a strong staff is the result of dedicated work: Antigen actively collaborates with universities, attracting talented young people proficient in foreign languages and supporting their studies in master's and doctoral programs, including through international programs. Funding for the expensive equipment, he explained, comes from research grants from various ministries and the company's own funds, which are purposefully invested in equipping laboratories for physical and chemical analysis, biotechnology, molecular biology, and many others, which have been staffed over more than twenty-five years.

The importance of the work carried out at Antigen is difficult to overstate. Nurlan Nurolldinovich emphasized that their accredited laboratory is capable of testing a wide range of products—from milk and meat to honey—for compliance with international standards, identifying adulteration, the presence of trans fats, pesticides, and antibiotics . These tests are vital for farmers and producers striving to produce high-quality, organic products, especially in light of tightening export requirements and growing consumer demand for healthy eating . Furthermore, Antigen not only produces vaccines for the domestic market in Kazakhstan and a number of foreign countries, including Azerbaijan , Georgia, and Israel, but is also actively involved in the transfer of advanced technologies and the training of young specialists, offering its facilities for student training and research. This, according to my interviewee, is an investment in the future of the nation and the country's biological security.
