PIONERPRODUKT.by is in the Chechen Republic for the first time!
This video captures a historic event – a professional discussion about the official recognition of the Gissar sheep breed in the Russian Federation. Leading scientists, farmers, breeders, and representatives of agricultural science gathered on one platform.
We visited Arbi and Alu Amerkhanov – people who are developing sheep farming in the Caucasus with love and respect.
Arbi Abazovich Amerkhanov is an Honored Builder of the Moscow Region, Deputy General DIRECTOR of the Nalchik Dairy Plant, and HEAD of the Amerkhanov peasant farm.
Alu Abazovich Amerkhanov is the Imam of the Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov Central Mosque "Heart of Chechnya."
Our meeting was attended by: Kharon Adievich Amirkhanov
, Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (RAS) , a prominent scientist in the fields of breeding, selection, genetics, and biotechnology of farm animals, as well as livestock production technology, and President of the Union of Sheep Breeders of RUSSIA; Yusupzhan Artykovich Yuldashbaev , Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor at the Timiryazev Academy ; Ibrokhim Izatulloevich Bobokolonov , a renowned scientist and practitioner from Tajikistan and one of the leading specialists in the Hissar breed ; and Eragy Isaevich Gishlarkaev , Director of the only breeding and genetic center in Russia, Volgograd-Edilbay, specializing in the Edilbaev breed of sheep.
The key topic of the meeting was the inclusion of the Hissar sheep breed in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, as well as the creation of the country's first gene pool farm for this breed.
The legal import of Hissar sheep into Russia, regulatory barriers, and the need for state support for rare and endangered breeds were also discussed.
Kharon Adievich Amerkhanov spoke in detail about the regulatory framework, regulations, and the state's role in supporting gene pool farms, the obstacles to the official recognition of the Gissar breed in the Russian Federation, and ways to overcome these obstacles.
Eragy Isaevich Gishlarkaev , an expert on the Edilbaev breed, shares his perspective on the Gissar sheep, emphasizing their outstanding MEAT and fat characteristics and the potential that needs to be developed. He particularly notes that this farm boasts a herd of the highest quality Gissar sheep, which he "has never seen anywhere else"—pure-bred Gissar sheep, free of any impurities. He highly appreciates the efforts and conditions created, and is confident that the foundation for the development of this unique breed in Russia is being laid here.
You will also see how a modern facility is designed to provide comfortable conditions for keeping ewes, with an automatic ventilation system, drainage floors, and automatic waterers.
This video is more than just a farm tour; it's an important professional conversation between academics, breeders, and practitioners that could impact the future of one of the most outstanding sheep breeds in the post-Soviet space.
