Several districts of Lipetsk region have started harvesting straw and grain fodder

The preparation of feed for farm animals for the winter-stall period of 2025-2026 continues.
18.6 thousand hectares of annual and perennial grasses have been mown. 16.8 thousand tons of hay and 90 thousand tons of haylage have been prepared. With the start of grain harvesting, the preparation of another type of roughage - straw - has started. So far, only in three districts: Gryazinsky, Dobrinsky and Yeletsky. The first 700 tons have been received there. In total, 107.5 thousand tons of roughage have been prepared in the region as of July 23, with a total need of 334.7 thousand tons.
In Gryazinsky and Dobrinsky districts, they have begun preparing grain fodder. Lipetsk farmers will also have to prepare succulent feed. This work will begin closer to autumn, when they will harvest corn for silage. “In total, for the winter-stall period of 2025-2026, the region’s farmers will have to prepare about 750 thousand tons of coarse and succulent feed and 155 thousand tons of grain fodder,” she reported.Minister of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region Ekaterina Markova.
