Acting Governor Georgy Filimonov checked the progress of the harvesting campaign in the region and inspected the farmland of the Zarya enterprise in the Vologda District.
“Today, more than 60 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with a yield of 27 c/ha. This is almost twice as much as at the same date last year; the yield is quite high. In total, this year it is planned to collect at least 180 thousand tons of grain. Let’s hope that the weather will allow us to do this without any major losses,” said Georgy Filimonov.
The grain harvesting campaign started in early August. Under ideal weather conditions, grain is expected to be harvested by mid-September.
Potatoes will be harvested until the end of October, and corn silage and perennial grasses will be harvested in September-October. Forage harvesting continues as long as weather conditions permit.
In total, during the harvesting campaign in 2024 , they plan to collect about 4.5 thousand tons of rapeseed, about 180 thousand tons of potatoes, 48 thousand tons of open ground vegetables and about 700 tons of flax fiber.
Let us recall that last year in the Vologda region 210.7 thousand tons of grain, 192 thousand tons of potatoes, 48.3 thousand tons of vegetables and a thousand tons of flax fiber were harvested.
