This summer, an unusual farm for growing marketable fish - trout - appeared on a lake near Nadym. Its owner, businessman Alexander Borodin.
The stocking of the reservoir rented by the farmer took place in early June. Planting material, in the amount of 9.5 thousand pieces, was delivered from the Sobsky fish hatchery in Kharp. The trout has already acclimatized well in the local water. Here, in the cage line installed in the lake, she is fed at least 6 times a day and the hydrochemical and temperature regimes of the water are carefully monitored.
“Before the stocking process was preceded by a long period of preparatory work. Experts were invited, who, after carrying out the necessary laboratory studies of water, confirmed the possibility of keeping trout in the lake. Then a fish-breeding area was formed for the auction. At the auction, the peasant farm received the right to use the reservoir. On the lake, we arranged a cage line of four cages. In it, trout will grow up to reach a marketable mass, ”said Alexander Borodin, HEAD of the peasant farm.
The first sale of trout grown to marketable weight of 2.5 kg is scheduled for next year. Now the farmer is faced with the task of keeping the fish population alive and healthy until spring. It is very important how the inhabitants of the reservoir spend the winter. If the experience turns out to be positive, the entrepreneur intends to supply trout to the tables of the Yamal people on a permanent basis.
“To stimulate and support the initiatives of business entities in the field of commercial fish farming, subsidies are provided from the district budget to compensate for part of the costs of purchasing feed and fish seed. I would like to note that there are a large number of rivers and lakes in Yamal and, accordingly, the district has great potential for the development of commercial aquaculture,” said Dmitry Korobeinikov, head of the department for organizing and regulating fisheries of the regional department of the agro-industrial complex.
Activities for growing fish in the region in addition to KFH Borodin A.V. run 4 more fish-breeding organizations. In total, over the past year, they have grown and sold 15 tons of marketable fish, which exceeds the figure for 2020 by 10%. The enterprises have been given 12 fish-breeding plots for use, and in addition, three have functioning closed water supply systems. Farmers and fishery owners can count on government support.
