In the Stavropol Territory, work continues on the laying of super-intensive type gardens in the personal subsidiary farms of the region. At the moment, in 11 municipal and urban districts of the region, announcements have been posted on a competitive selection for a grant for the development of gardening in private household plots of citizens. Upon its completion, 80 million rubles will be distributed among the winning participants, provided for these purposes in the regional budget in 2021. Thanks to this, in the spring of next year, the area of super-intensive gardens in the region will increase by 17.9 hectares.

“The experiment, initiated by the Governor of the region in 2018, has been successfully implemented on the territory of the Stavropol Territory for the fourth year. During this time, 17 municipal and urban districts have taken part in it, whose residents over the years have planted super-intensive gardens in 600 private farms on an area of 60 hectares,” said Sergey Izmalkov, Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.

This year, 179 personal subsidiary farms from Aleksandrovsky, Andropovsky, Grachevsky, Krasnogvardeysky, Kursk, Pidgorny, Trunovsky, Shpakovsky, Izobilnensky, Kirovsky, Novoaleksandrovsky districts will become participants in the program. The amount of the subsidy will also increase: from 400,000 rubles to 435,000 rubles. Accordingly, the 5% contribution of the participant in the experiment will increase to 22.8 thousand rubles.

“After submitting an application, water samples were taken from a spring on my personal plot and a soil analysis was carried out. Then we planned the future garden, and also installed a trellis and installed a drip irrigation system,” said Valery Shalalygin, a participant in the program from the Blagodarnensky district, said.

After the preparatory stage, 480 one-year-old seedlings of APPLE trees of four varieties were planted on the site of Valery Pavlovich - "Red Jonaprince", "Gala Shniga", "Florina" and "Golden Rangers" to distinguish the taste of apples and their ripening time.

“This year I got the first fruits, but they had to be cut off according to the technology of growing a super-intensive garden. Therefore, I plan to harvest the starting apple harvest in 2022, and I am sure that it will be good,” Valery Shalalygin emphasized.

But the participants of the program, who planted orchards 2-3 years ago on the territory of the Piedmont District, have already harvested 600-800 kg of apples from the site this year.

“This program is a support for the village: it generates employment, gives people income, provides jobs for rural families,” explained Sergey Gorban, HEAD of the Department of Agriculture of the Predgorny Okrug.
One of the participants in the program in the Foothills in 2018 was Viktor Voronov from the village of Suvorovskaya. Today, his entire family takes care of the garden. Parents carry out pruning, processing, and children - weeding between rows, whitewashing trees. The result of such work is not only delicious and environmentally friendly apples, but also the transfer of love for the native land from generation to generation, the development of joint work skills.
