In the spring, at the beginning of the resumption of vegetation, winter cereals need increased nitrogen nutrition. Agrarians of Stavropol, traditionally attach great importance to this issue, and have already begun to apply mineral fertilizers.
For the first top dressing of the winter wedge, with an area of 1.6 million hectares, it is necessary to add 85 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers in the active substance to the soil of Stavropol already in February - March. The pace of their buildup is increasing every week, and to date, fertilizers have been applied to 165.5 thousand hectares in the region. In total, the need for mineral fertilizers for the first half of 2022 is 146.2 thousand tons of active ingredient, and farmers are actively accumulating the required amount of fertilizers.
“The main suppliers of mineral fertilizers are currently complying with the terms and conditions of deliveries. Nitrogen fertilization has begun in 20 districts of the Stavropol Territory,” said Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
Over the past 10-12 years, the use of mineral fertilizers in the region has increased significantly, which has a beneficial effect on the quality and quantity of the harvested crop. Therefore, despite the rise in prices for fertilizers and other difficulties in crop production, Stavropol farmers close the norm for applying fertilizers above the minimum requirement, taking care of the efficiency of their use.
