The Upper Volga Berry berry farm of Pavel and Vera Terekhin is located in the Rybinsk region. Here, on the territory of about 3 hectares, more than 10 species of raspberries were planted last autumn, the basis of which are remontant varieties - early and medium fruiting.
When carrying out the work, the farmers used agricultural machinery purchased with the funds of the Agrostartup grant - the farm received state support in the amount of about 2 million rubles.
“Thanks to the support of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, active work is being carried out in the region to develop small businesses. In particular, growing berry crops is gaining more and more popularity among citizens and farms. - said the deputy DIRECTOR of the department of agro-industrial complex and consumer market Natalia Dugina. - Over the past three years, 5 grants from Agrostartup have been provided in this area in the amount of about 12 million rubles. As a result of the implementation of these projects, the volume of berry production in the region will be 100 tons per year.”
The Terekhins are planning to reach the figure of 11 tons per year.
“In the future, there is also the cultivation of other environmentally friendly berries and seedlings of berry crops, for example, blackberries and blueberries,” Vera Terekhina shared.
