
In 2021, the reference laboratory for the diagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease, subordinated to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for Animal Health", organized and successfully conducted international interlaboratory comparison tests (MMSI) for the detection of antibodies to foot-and-mouth disease virus in animal blood serum samples, with the determination of their type-specific affiliation.
Within the framework of the MMSI, 8 laboratories were declared and participated: the Astrakhan Regional Veterinary Laboratory of the Russian Federation, the Kropotkin Regional Veterinary Laboratory of the Russian Federation, 2 veterinary laboratories of the Kyrgyz Republic, the laboratory of the Scientific Center for Assessment and Analysis of Food Safety Risks of the Republic of Armenia, the diagnostic laboratory of the State Institution "Belarusian State Veterinary Center" of the Republic of Belarus, 2 testing laboratories "National Reference Center for Veterinary Medicine" of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Round MMSI-21 under the Program "Determination of antibodies to foot-and-mouth disease virus by ELISA" was recognized as valid, no violations were identified. All participants were presented with a detailed report and certificates.
