Livestock farming is an industry without which profitable agricultural production is impossible in today's realities, noted the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Belarus –Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov opened the republican seminar and meeting on livestock farming, which took place today, December 24, in Ufa.
"Considering low procurement prices for grain and legumes, falling SUGAR prices , and the tendency for this situation to persist for a long time, it is important to develop livestock farming. The dairy industry will likely remain the driver of regional agricultural development for many years to come," he said.
Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted that by 2030, the republic should have 50 industrial dairy farms producing at least 1 million tons of commercial MILK. To service these farms, at least 1 million hectares of arable land will be needed—a significant amount.
He emphasized that developing dairy farming and building industrial farms are the main tasks for the republic's farmers in the coming years.
"The most agile will benefit, as federal support for the dairy industry, including capex, which reimburses up to 42% of farm construction costs, will only last for another two years and then cease," said the HEAD of the regional agricultural agency.
Intensification of the industry and the ramp-up of new livestock farms to full capacity have enabled sustainable growth in commercial milk and MEAT production, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Farit Valitov also emphasized in his speech.
According to preliminary results for the current year, compared to the same period last year, commercial milk production has increased to 783,000 tons (49.4% of total production).
Moreover, 80% of this volume—more than 630,000 tons—was produced by agricultural enterprises (632,800 tons), primarily due to the implementation of investment projects. Today, farms where such projects have been implemented are leaders in gross milk yield, yielding from 60 to 180 tons or more per day. For example, the Urozhai dairy farm in the Aurgazinsky District produces up to 182 tons of milk per day, Severnaya Niva Bashkiria in the Yermekeyevsky District produces up to 96 tons, SP Bazy LLC in the Chekmagushevsky District produces up to 90 tons, SP Ashkadarsky in the Meleuzovsky District produces up to 76 tons, and the Geroy agricultural production cooperative
in the Chekmagushevsky District produces up to 67 tons. Over the past 12 months, the republic produced approximately 441,000 tons of livestock and poultry meat (for slaughter, live weight). Farit Valitov noted that meat production is planned to reach 550,000 tons by 2030. Azat Ziganshin and Ruslan Khusnutdinov, heads of the State Veterinary Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR
Administration for the Republic of Bashkortostan, also addressed the seminar participants . They discussed the region's most important biological security issues. Participants were also presented with experience in implementing large-scale investment projects in dairy farming.
