
The region is harvesting coarse fodder: hay and haylage. Harvesting of another type of coarse fodder, straw, will begin with the harvest .
Eight municipalities have started mowing grass. About 4 thousand hectares of perennial and annual grasses have been mown to date. 400 tons of hay and almost 20 thousand tons of haylage have been harvested.
Towards the end of summer, farmers will begin harvesting succulent fodder and grain forage.
“The need for coarse fodder for the winter-stall period of 2025-2026 in the region is over 300 thousand tons. it will be necessary to harvest about 400 thousand tons of succulent fodder. About 150 thousand tons of grain forage will also be needed,” reportedMinister of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region Ekaterina Markova.
