The Lipetsk region is among the top five in the country in terms of fruit and berry production

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in the organized sector, Russian farmers harvested 1.1 million tons of fruits, which is 22.2% more than in 2020 (0.9 million tons). The Lipetsk region is one of the leaders in this area along with the Krasnodar Territory, the Voronezh Region, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the Republic of Crimea.

This year, the region harvested 64.6 thousand tons of fruit and berry products, including 63.2 thousand tons of apples, 1.4 thousand tons of berries and 20 tons of cherries. In 2020, the harvest of fruits and berries in the Lipetsk region amounted to 54.6 thousand tons.

Horticulture is one of the most promising and high-tech sub-sectors in agriculture. The increase in production volumes is primarily ensured by the high rates of laying modern intensive orchards and nurseries. Over the past 5 years, agricultural producers have increased the area of ​​orchards and almost doubled the commercial production of fruits and berries.

This year, another record will be reached in RUSSIA - at least 1.5 million tons of fruits and berries, and over the next five years this figure will grow to 2.2 million tons.
