“Today, the threshing of grain and leguminous crops in the Republic of Crimea has increased by an average of 67% compared to last year and amounted to more than 1.2 million tons. 356 thousand hectares of early grain and leguminous crops or 61% of the total sown area were harvested.
The average republican yield of early grains today amounted to 36 centners per hectare,” Yury Migal specified.
The HEAD of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture focused on the fact that despite the difficulties that the weather presented during the harvest this year, Crimean farmers show the highest professionalism, teamwork and labor feat to ensure the food security of our region.
“Grain growers are finishing harvesting winter barley, more than 97% of the crop or 167 thousand hectares have already been harvested. Among the districts, the leaders in the rate of harvesting grains and legumes are Krasnoperekopsky district - 77%, Razdolnensky district - 71%, Krasnogvardeisky district - 69%. The leaders in grain and leguminous crops are 3 districts: Krasnogvardeisky - 213 thousand tons, Dzhankoysky - 120 thousand tons, Razdolnensky - 116 thousand tons. To meet the needs of the Republic of Crimea, about 800 thousand tons of grain are needed,” the Minister of Agriculture of Crimea emphasized.
Yuri Migal added that the harvest will last for about 2 more weeks and wished success to the Crimean farmers.
