Crimean farmers began to harvest early vegetables in the open field

Borscht vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, sweet peppers and other crops were harvested from an area of ​​more than 200 hectares.
Crimean agrarians began to harvest early vegetables in the open field. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk.
“The first crop of Crimean vegetables of the “borscht set” this year has already been harvested - almost a thousand tons. These are cabbage, beets , carrots and onions. Also, farmers are now harvesting other types of vegetable crops from the fields: cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, sweet peppers, vegetable peas , eggplant and garlic. The works were carried out on an area of ​​more than 200 hectares, 2.3 thousand tons of early vegetables and about 240 tons of potatoes were harvested. Let me remind you that this year our agricultural producers, as well as peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs plan to harvest vegetables from an area of ​​about 4.5 thousand hectares and potatoes from an area of ​​1.2 thousand hectares,” commented the head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture.
Andrey Savchuk also spoke about the fact that farmers continue to harvest Crimean fruits and berries, as well as vegetables in greenhouses. 7.7 thousand tons of protected ground vegetables were harvested. Of these, cucumbers - 5.6 thousand tons, tomatoes - 2.1 thousand tons and about 1 thousand tons of fruit and berry products. The sowing of late open-ground vegetables, which will be stored, also continues.
