Crimean farmers have completed the collection of fruit and berry products. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Andrey Ryumshin.
“According to preliminary operational data of the district administrations, 119.4 thousand tons were collected. The harvested area amounted to 6.3 thousand hectares,” the Deputy Prime Minister specified.
Andrei Ryumshin also noted that the gross harvest of pome crops this year amounted to more than 112 thousand tons: apples were harvested - 112 thousand tons, pears - 27 tons.
“More than 6,000 tons of stone fruits were harvested: 1,700 tons of cherries, 194 tons of cherries, 1,800 tons of peach, almost 78 tons of apricots, and 2,300 tons of plums. Also, agricultural producers of the republic harvested 1.2 thousand tons of berry crops: 948 tons of strawberries, more than 66 tons of raspberries, 185 tons of blackberries,” commented the HEAD of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture.
The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized that almost 200 hectares of orchards that have come out of the exploitation period have been uprooted to date.
“Currently, intensive work is being carried out to increase the area of the gardens. More than 800 hectares of soil have been prepared for planting orchards. By the end of 2021, it is planned to plant more than 1,000 hectares of perennial plantings. To date, 250 hectares of orchards have been planted,” the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
