In 2023, the gross cucumber harvest in Kabardino-Balkaria, both in open and protected ground, amounted to 73,200 tons, a 42.4% increase compared to 2022, according to Rosstat .
Agricultural organizations, farms, and individual entrepreneurs harvested almost 43% of the cucumbers, while private households accounted for the remainder (57%).
Kabardino-Balkaria ranks second in cucumber yield among the constituent entities of the North Caucasus Federal District. Kabardino-Balkaria accounts for over 28% of all cucumbers grown in the North Caucasus Federal District.
Nearly 55,300 tons of cucumbers were harvested in open ground, with an average yield of 250.3 c/ha (110.4% of 2022).
The average yield of open-ground cucumbers in Kabardino-Balkaria is 22% higher than the Russian average and almost 9% higher than the North Caucasus Federal District average.
