Among the first-year students are students from Peru, Haiti, Mongolia, Senegal, Nigeria, CHINA , Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.

Foreigners showed interest in various agricultural professions - from an agro-engineer to an economist in the agro-industrial complex. Almost all of them are now in RUSSIA, so very soon they will start their studies together with the rest of the students of the university. By the way, due to the epidemiological situation, not all classes will be held face-to-face - distance lectures are provided for large streaming lectures.

Diego Alvaro came to Yekaterinburg from Peru. He studied Russian for a year and a half to study agricultural engineering at USAU. According to Diego, specialists with Russian education and knowledge of the Russian language are highly valued in Peru, so after graduation he plans to return home.

“I really like technical professions, so I chose agricultural engineering. I am sure that I will be a sought-after specialist in my homeland. In the meantime, I'm getting ready to study. I hope it won't be difficult. I heard that it will be necessary to learn how to operate various agricultural machinery, I really like it,” said Diego Alvaro, a 1st year student of the USAU Faculty of Engineering Technology.

It should be noted that young people from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Benin, Egypt, Zambia, Cameroon and other countries come to the Ural Agrarian University to study in the specialties that are in demand in agriculture. The international cooperation of the university today includes 28 countries of the world. Foreign students study in general groups in Russian. Therefore, those who do not speak Russian fluently first take annual language courses at the university.

“Agro-industrial complex is the only industry that has not been affected by the covid-19 pandemic . Food production will always be relevant. Modern youth very consciously chooses their future profession, analyzing many factors, including demand. Many guys understand that any agricultural profession is a large complex of knowledge and skills that are in demand in any country. Therefore, the number of foreign students at USAU has increased one and a half times compared to last year. An important factor in choosing a university is also a low tuition fee, a comfortable hostel in the city center and an individual approach,” said Evgenia Nikolaevna Stepanova, HEAD of the International Educational Programs Department of USAU.
