Participants in the experiments will be manufacturers of goods, importers, as well as wholesale and retail trade organizations.
From December 25, 2023 to August 31, 2024 , experiments on labeling animal feed, veterinary drugs and vegetable oil will start in RUSSIA. The corresponding Resolutions were signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Manufacturers of refined and unrefined sunflower, olive, soybean, peanut, palm, coconut, rapeseed, cocoa butter and others, as well as margarine will be able to participate in the experiment on labeling vegetable oil. In Chuvashia, these are 7 producers of vegetable oils, including 1 in industrial packaging, which produced 11.5 thousand tons of unrefined vegetable oils and their fractions in January - October 2023 (119.9% compared to the same period last year ).
The experimental pet food labeling will involve companies that produce products for dogs, cats, birds, rodents and other pets. There are 5 such manufacturers in Chuvashia: 2 produce food for dogs, 3 produce food for poultry. Over the 10 months of 2023, they produced about 80 thousand tons of feed for poultry (104.6% compared to the same period last year).
In the field of veterinary drugs, manufacturers of immunological products, vaccines, as well as drugs that consist of two or more components will be able to participate in labeling.
“Enterprises of the Chuvash food processing industry, agricultural producers, and farmers have been actively introducing product labeling since the beginning of the “Honest Sign” system. The technologies, one might say, have already passed all the tests. We start with experiments, test, and by the time mandatory compliance with the requirements is announced, enterprises are already fully prepared,” notes the Deputy Prime Minister,Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov.
The work is being carried out as part of the implementation of the strategy to combat the illicit trafficking of industrial products in the Russian Federation for the period until 2025.
