As part of the implementation of measures to prevent the introduction and spread of the African swine fever (ASF) virus in the Republic of Mordovia, in 2022, 95 unscheduled inspections (of which 36 were control) were carried out in relation to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in keeping, breeding and slaughter pigs, storage, production and sale of pork and products of its processing. As a result of inspections, 37 orders were issued to eliminate the identified violations, 58 protocols were drawn up, 5 warnings were issued, decisions were made to impose penalties in the form of fines.
Of these, the following was carried out:
- 1 inspection in relation to the enterprise for keeping and breeding pigs. 1 prescription was issued, 3 protocols were drawn up.
- 11 checks (of which 3 are control checks) in relation to enterprises for slaughtering and processing pigs. 5 prescriptions were issued, 7 protocols were drawn up, fines were imposed.
- 3 inspections (of which 1 is control) in relation to public catering establishments. No violations were found during the inspections.
- 80 inspections (of which 32 are control) of the places of sale of pig products. 31 prescriptions were issued, 48 protocols were drawn up, 5 warnings were issued, fines were imposed.
As part of the delegated powers, in 2022, 1 control check was carried out on the execution of a previously issued order in relation to private household plots occupied with pigs. Based on the results of the inspection, 1 prescription was issued, 1 protocol was drawn up.
The Department, together with the Interregional Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Mordovia, agreed on a plan for joint field surveys on the lands of specially protected natural areas of federal significance located within the borders of the Republic of Mordovia for 2022. As part of joint field surveys, the search and detection of dead wild animals (including birds) for laboratory testing for the presence of infectious animal diseases is carried out, as well as monitoring the implementation of the recommended limit of wild boar population density per 1000 ha.
In order to fulfill the above plan, in 2022, 1 joint raid event was carried out on the territory of the Mordovian State Nature Reserve. P.G. Smidovich of the Temnikovsky municipal district, during which no dead boars were found.
As part of the regional monitoring of the ASF epizootic situation among domestic pigs and wild boars, 8399 samples were taken, including 8267 samples from pigs (1970 samples from live pigs, 918 from slaughter pigs, 5379 from dead pigs) and 132 samples from wild boars (130 samples of wild boars taken as part of amateur and sport hunting, and 2 samples from dead wild boars).
As part of the federal monitoring of the ASF epizootic situation among domestic pigs and wild boars, 271 samples were taken.
In all cases, a negative result for the presence of the ASF virus was obtained.
All specialized pig-breeding enterprises of the republic operate in a closed mode. On the territory of the Republic of Mordovia, no ASF foci have been identified.
