Results of scheduled inspections in the field of safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals on the territory of the Republic of Mordovia

The Office of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR for the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region exercises state supervision over compliance by citizens and legal entities with regulations on the use of pesticides and agrochemicals in the production of agricultural products, with the exception of the use of pesticides and agrochemicals by citizens for running private household plots.
In 2023, 55 scheduled inspections were carried out on the territory of the Republic of Mordovia to monitor compliance by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs with the mandatory requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals, of which violations were identified in the activities of 49.
Failure to comply with regulations for the use of pesticides and inadequate notification of the population about the work have become the main violations of agricultural enterprises.
Not all enterprises know that the main document when carrying out work on processing agricultural crops is the State Catalog of Pesticides and Agrochemicals approved for use on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is an official document that contains a list of pesticides and agrochemicals permitted for use by citizens and legal entities in agriculture, forestry, communal and private farms, as well as the basic regulations for the use of pesticides established during their registration tests. The catalog is posted on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture on the Internet (https://mcx.gov.ru/) and is constantly updated.
Proper informing of the population of populated areas about the treatment of land plots with pesticides and agrochemicals must be carried out within the established time frame and contain all information in full, as required by Art. 16 of the Federal Law of December 30, 2020 No. 490-FZ “On Beekeeping”.
The Rosselkhoznadzor Office also informs that in accordance with Article 25 of the Federal Law of July 19, 1997 No. 109-FZ “On the safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals”, persons guilty of violating the safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals are liable in accordance with the law Russian Federation.
