The food production index in Lipetsk region increased by 10.8 percent

The volume of shipped products and sold goods of the region's food and processing industry enterprises in the first half of the year reached 159.7 billion rubles. This is 26.1% more than in the same period last year.
Positive dynamics are observed in many areas. Thus, the production of canned MEAT increased by 36.5%, processed potatoes by 28.6%, and yeast by 11.4%. The output of frozen fruits and berries increased by 31.5%. SUGAR production increased by 12.5% ​​compared to the same period last year. Dairy products for children increased by 21.8% in the first half of the year, and meat products for baby food increased by 7.9%. The production of processed fruit and vegetable products for children increased by 6.6%. In all these positions, Lipetsk Region is either the leader in the country or consistently ranks among the top 3 producers of these food products.
Lipetsk oil extraction plants continue to increase the production of vegetable oils. In the first six months of 2024 , they produced 15.5% more than in the same period last year. Soybean oil continues to show the largest increase . Its production grew by 85.7%. Rapeseed oil production increased by 14.6%, sunflower oil - by 3.1%. The region also produced a small amount of linseed oil.
In addition, the production of jams and fruit puree increased in the region by 44.4%, butter - by 26%, poultry meat and edible by-products - by 26.5%, cereals - by 41.1%, cheeses and cottage cheese - by 17.4%.
In the first six months of this year, the food production index in the Lipetsk region amounted to 110.8% of the corresponding period last year. "The food and processing industry of the region is developing dynamically and is attractive for investment. “New areas are being developed that are promising for the economy and contribute to import substitution and food security of the country,” commented Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov.
