
For the period from April 1 to April 29, 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE) received reports of the registration of especially dangerous animal diseases in different countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of the OIE.
The detection of the first outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza this year was reported by the veterinary services of Mali (1) and Montenegro (1). In both cases, the infection was caused by the H5N1 subtype.
New outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have also been reported by Austria (2), Belgium (3), Bulgaria (3), United Kingdom (37), Hungary (30), Germany (132), Greece (4), Denmark (6), India ( 1), Spain (3), Italy (1), CANADA (38), Lithuania (1), Mexico (1), Nepal (1), Nigeria (7), Netherlands (82), Norway (4), Poland ( 2), usa (185), Taiwan (1), Philippines (22), Finland (1), France (172), Czech Republic (1), Sweden (2), Estonia (1), South Africa (1), SOUTH KOREA (3), Japan (44). Infection has been noted in agricultural, wild, zoo birds, as well as in seals in Denmark and in foxes in Japan. Currently, the subtype H5N1 is mainly registered, in addition, subtypes H5N5, H7N3, H5N8, H5N2 have been identified.
Newcastle disease has been identified in Sweden (1).
An outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease type O was reported by official Algerian sources (3). The disease has not been registered in the country since the first half of 2019. In addition, outbreaks have been reported in Zambia (2), Israel (1), Mozambique (1) and South Africa (10).
In Cyprus (1), an outbreak of brucellosis caused by Brucella melitensis was reported in the cattle population for the first time since 2010. The Veterinary Services of Uruguay (1) have detected an outbreak of myxomatosis in rabbits. The disease has not been officially registered in the country since 1992.
African swine fever has been reported in Bhutan (1), Haiti (5), Hungary (51), Germany (22), Zambia (2), Italy (27), Latvia (22), Malaysia (32), Poland (732), Romania (39), North Macedonia (1), Romania (27), Thailand (21), South Africa (10), South Korea (27).
Piroplasmosis has been reported in a horse in Finland (1).
On the territory of Pakistan (1) a new focus of infectious nodular dermatitis. Classical swine fever in Japan (2), Rift Valley fever in Rwanda (3). Outbreaks of sheep pox and goat pox (3) and plague of small ruminants (3) have been recorded in Mongolia.
The fight against a rabies outbreak (11) in Malaysia continues. 64 districts of Sarawak have been declared rabies free.
Aujeszky's disease has been reported in France (1) in domestic pigs.
Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis/pustular vulvovaginitis has been reported in Kazakhstan (1).
In Australia (24), an outbreak of Japanese encephalitis in pigs continues. An increase in the number of abortions or stillbirths and mummified fetuses has been reported in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
covid -19 has been identified in manatees, marmosets and anteaters at a wildlife center in Brazil (2) and in wild deer in Canada (1).
