For the period from July 9 to 15, 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (WOAH) received reports of the registration of 132 foci of especially dangerous animal diseases from 17 countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of WOAH.
New outbreaks of African swine fever have been reported by Italy (7 outbreaks), Latvia (17), Moldova (1) and Romania (3).
Newcastle disease has been reported in Spain (2).
Highly pathogenic avian influenza continues to affect the poultry industry in many countries. Belgium (4), United Kingdom (10), Germany (7), Netherlands (32), Norway (2), Finland (1), Sweden (2), CANADA ( 3), usa (25) and South Africa (1). In most cases, the infection was caused by the H5N1 virus subtype, in Norway it was H5N5. In the United States, the disease also spreads among mammals: the infection has been reported in seals.
West Nile fever has been found in owls at the Magdeburg Zoo in Germany (1). In Hungary (1) – equine infectious anemia.
Foci of contagious equine metritis have been reported in the UK (1) and Denmark (11).
Infection of the saimiri monkey with the covid-19 CORONAVIRUS infection was established at the US Zoo (1), Arizona. Contact with an infected person was named as a likely source of infection.
