Epizootic situation on especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from September 4 to 10, 2021

For the period from 4 to 10 September 2021, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE) received reports of the registration of 306 new foci of especially dangerous animal diseases in 30 countries of the world this year. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of the OIE.

Cases of plague of small ruminants (1 focus), infectious nodular dermatitis (3) and foot-and-mouth disease (3 focuses) have been reported in Mongolia. Foot and mouth disease has also been identified in South Africa (5). Infectious nodular bovine dermatitis in Cambodia (1), Malaysia (41) and Nepal (1). Bovine spongiform encephalopathy has been diagnosed in Brazil (2).

African swine fever has been detected in the Dominican Republic (6), Hungary (2), Germany (9), Latvia (2), Poland (39), Romania (129), Ukraine (1), as well as Hong Kong (1), CHINA (1) and Malaysia (13). New foci of classical swine fever have been reported by Japanese authorities (18).

Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been reported in Pakistan (1), Taiwan (1), Luxembourg (1), Belgium (1), the Netherlands (1), Finland (3), Botswana (1) and Togo (1). The disease caused by viruses of the H5N1, H5N2 and H5N8 subtypes has been noted in agricultural birds and wild birds.

In Mexico, 12 foci of rabbit hemorrhagic disease have been identified. On the territory of Spain and Kazakhstan, one focus of anthrax was found. In Malaysia, cats have rabies.

CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 has been reported in tigers in Indonesia (1) and in the United States (1), as well as in minks in Greece (1).
