
For the period from 23 to 29 July 2022, the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) received reports of the registration of 168 foci of especially dangerous animal diseases from 19 countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of WOAH.
New outbreaks of African swine fever have been reported by Hungary (2), Italy (6), Latvia (51), Macedonia (2), Romania (7) and Nepal (2).
Highly pathogenic avian influenza continues to affect the poultry industry in many countries. Belgium (1), UK (5), Germany (12), Poland (1), France (17), Sweden (6), USA (6), Taiwan (2) reported new outbreaks in poultry and wild birds and the Philippines (24). In most cases, the infection was caused by the H5N1 virus subtype, in Taiwan it was H5N2. In Israel, 5 foci of Newcastle disease have been reported.
Algeria (5 outbreaks; serotype O) and South Africa (4 outbreaks; serotype SAT-3) reported new cases of FMD. In addition, plague of small ruminants (9 foci) was registered in Algeria. Anthrax has been diagnosed in calves in Azerbaijan.
