The Chelyabinsk region increased the volume of exports of agricultural products in January-August 2021 by 5.5 percent compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the planned indicators of agricultural exports for this period were set by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for the region, exceeding the last year's figure by 4.2 percent.
The increase in the volume of food exports became possible thanks to the well-organized systematic joint work of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and exporters - enterprises of the food and processing industry of the Chelyabinsk region, which allows overcoming difficulties in the field of EXPORT development.
“The growth in exports of agricultural products from the Chelyabinsk region indirectly confirms the increase in consumer demand abroad for the products of Chelyabinsk manufacturers,” comments Inna Podshivalova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk Region. — According to the federal authorities, the planned indicators of exports of agricultural products for 8 months of 2021 in comparable prices were fulfilled by 57.05 percent and amount to 101.1 million US dollars. And this is taking into account the fact that the harvesting campaign has just begun in August and a significant share of the products is only planned for export. I would like to add that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation analyzed the indicators of exports of agricultural products of the Chelyabinsk region and found that, in terms of comparable prices, the cost of exported South Ural products increased by 30 percent, or by $10 million.
Joint work with food producers is aimed not only at developing foreign markets, but also at expanding the geography of supplies throughout the Russian Federation. Thus, during the meetings that took place as part of the participation in the events of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, a number of agreements were reached with the heads of the regional ministries of agriculture of the Primorsky Territory, the Amur Region, the Khabarovsk Territory, and a cooperation agreement was signed with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Buryatia.
The meetings were devoted to expanding the possibilities of supplying agricultural products, as well as the food and processing industry of the Chelyabinsk region to the regions of the Far East. Decisions were made to hold joint trade and procurement sessions, round tables, B2B and B2G negotiations online on the basis of regional ministries.
“We believe that the dialogue of business representatives with the participation of regional authorities will give a positive result not only in increasing sales volumes, but also in strengthening interregional ties and creating interregional cooperation in the framework of import substitution,” says Inna Podshivalova. “At present, our manufacturers have a real opportunity to take places on the shelves in the regions of the Far East, which, in a sense, have been vacated by Chinese manufacturers due to the restrictions imposed.
In general, there is a positive trend in our exports. Despite a number of restrictions in force on the territory of foreign countries and preventing an increase in the growth rate of deliveries, more and more foreign buyers vote with money for the products of Chelyabinsk manufacturers. We, as the authority in charge of this area, within the framework of our powers, are ready to provide comprehensive support to manufacturers of the food and processing industry in the development of foreign trade activities and the development of new markets.”
