The State Veterinary Service of the Moscow Region examined more than 6 thousand horses for dangerous infectious diseases

Since the beginning of the year, veterinary specialists have been conducting research on particularly dangerous infectious diseases of horses.
“At the end of March this year, about 6,100 horses were examined in the Moscow region . In total, there are more than 100 stables and equestrian centers in the region. The development of horse breeding requires modern and prompt diagnosis of infectious diseases. it allows you to determine the extent of the spread of infection, identify animals with a latent form of the disease, as well as avoid contact of the herd with infected representatives and ensure the well-being of the farm,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region -Minister of Agriculture and Food Vladislav Murashov.
As a result of the studies, no infectious diseases were identified in the examined horses.
A set of measures for the diagnosis and prevention of equine diseases includes both a clinical examination of the livestock, laboratory and diagnostic tests, and preventive vaccinations .
Blood serum testing of horses for glanders, breeding disease and infectious anemia should be carried out at least once a year.
