The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Saratov region got acquainted with the course of the harvesting campaign

The HEAD of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Saratov region got acquainted with the course of the harvesting campaign in the Engels and Sovetsky municipal districts.
By the time of the meeting with grain growers, two districts of the region - Engelssky and Pugachevsky - crossed the mark of 100,000 tons of grain, the gross harvest in the region amounted to more than one million three hundred thousand tons. “The threshing is high. In terms of yield, we are ahead of 2017, when there was a similar harvesting process, by 1.4 centners per hectare,” Roman Kovalsky explained to reporters.
One of the most important tasks today is to preserve the harvested crop, ship it, and ensure EXPORT outside the region and for export. Therefore, on the site of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, on an ongoing basis, operational headquarters for the harvesting campaign are held with the participation of deputies of the regional Duma, the Volga and South-Eastern railways, heads and representatives of elevators and grain-receiving enterprises.
Particular attention from the Ministry of Agriculture is paid to the registration of agricultural producers in the FSIS "Grain", training seminars are held. As of August 1, 1414 commodity producers were registered in the system.
In the Engels region, which is the leader in terms of harvesting early vegetables, the deputy chairman, accompanied by journalists, visited one of the region's leading vegetable-growing enterprises. “Vegetable production is a priority for the region. To date, the need for vegetables is closed completely. On behalf of and with the support of Acting Governor Roman Busargin, we hold fairs in all municipal districts, the number of which is constantly expanding, and this allows the population to purchase vegetable products at low prices and in the quantities necessary for harvesting,” said Roman Kovalsky.
On the territory of the region, the necessary storage areas are provided by fruit and vegetable stores, their total capacity is 96.18 thousand tons of one-time storage. The construction of new vegetable stores and a wholesale and logistics center, which is being built in the Ust-Kurdyum region, will make it possible to level out fluctuations in the price of agricultural products (remember, for example, cabbage, the price of which in 2021 reached 80 rubles, now the vegetable is sold for 15 rubles per kg at cost 16 rubles) and ensure the profitability of agricultural producers.
Deputy chairman Kovalsky emphasized that special attention is paid to support for vegetable and potato growers at the state level, and now the region is preparing for the implementation of the federal project "Development of vegetable and potato growing", which will start on January 1, 2023 and within which subsidies will be provided to small and medium-sized enterprises , as well as self-employed citizens leading personal subsidiary plots.
“Along with the courageous guys who are now fighting for the independence of our country, you are fighting daily for the harvest and ensure food security,” Roman Kovalsky said, noting the best tractor drivers, machine operators and combine operators with letters of thanks from the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.
