The head of Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev: we will provide comprehensive support to agricultural enterprises that will develop waste lands and open new jobs

On September 8, as part of a working visit to the Prokopyevsk District, the Governor of the Kemerovo Region, Sergey Tsivilev, visited one of the leading agricultural enterprises - JV Gefest LLC. The head of the region talked to machine operators and examined the new grain drying complex.

“For a long time, the Prokopyevsk district was considered the most “coal”, agriculture was secondary. Now we see a clear example of reasonable management. For several years, two young guys have created an enterprise in the village, which employs 500 people. They raise chickens, cows, sow almost eight thousand hectares of grain, the harvest is the best in the region. Now they have an interesting plan for the development of granaries, they installed a new dryer, and rightly so - the volumes are growing, it is necessary to store grain at a high price in order to make a profit. We will support such responsible agricultural producers with fertilizers, grants and other measures,” Governor Sergei Tsivilev emphasized.

The head of the region set the task for the economy to increase the area of crops, so that as few fertile lands in Kuzbass as possible remain unused. Sergey Tsivilev recalled that over the past three years, 80 thousand hectares of arable land have been returned to crop rotation in the region, the goal is to introduce another 200 thousand hectares in the next three years. The enterprise "Gefest" undertook to fulfill 10% of these volumes, that is, to put into circulation 20 thousand hectares of arable land.

“This year we have an average harvest of 50 centners per hectare, we use nitrogen fertilizers. Thank you for the spring support, this is very important, because we need money both for development and for equipment. Without fertilizers, we will not be able to produce a good harvest, and our target for the next two years is 60 centners per hectare. We can grow bread no worse than Krasnodar, we have all the conditions, both economic and natural,” said Aleksey Filonov, director of the farm.

Over the next three years, the company plans to create about 500 more jobs and purchase additional equipment. The total investment will amount to 1 billion rubles. Agricultural producers will be able to receive part of the funds in the form of preferential loans thanks to an agreement that the governor of Kuzbass and the chairman of the board of Rosselkhozbank signed last week at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
