FGBI "ARRIAH" took part in a regional consultative meeting within the framework of the Global Program for the Eradication of Pest of Small Ruminants for the countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), as well as Russia, China and Mongolia

In October 2021, employees of the reference laboratory for bovine diseases of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for Animal Health" subordinated to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR took part in an online meeting with delegates and experts from OIE member countries to discuss the implementation of the first phase of the "Global Strategy for the Control and Eradication of PPR (PPR) GCES)”, as well as making adjustments to the second phase of the strategy based on the experience gained during the implementation of the first.

More than 50 delegates from RUSSIA, CHINA , Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran and other countries of Eurasia took part in the event.

During the meeting, the delegates of the participating countries in their reports spoke about the current situation with PPR and the degree of implementation of state programs to achieve PPR free status.

FGBI “ARRIAH” employee Pavel Prutnikov spoke about the current situation with the disease in the Russian Federation, the problems that the country faced in obtaining the free status for the disease, and the measures taken to maintain the status.

In the discussion part, together with OIE experts, the situations and issues faced by countries in the implementation of the first phase of the Global Strategy were discussed. During the discussion of the materials of the reports and presentations presented during the meeting, several key directions for the implementation of the second phase of the Global Strategy for the Control and Eradication of PPR were identified, taking into account the proposals made by the delegates of the participating countries.
