FGBI "ARRIAH" took part in the scientific session of the general meeting of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On December 15, 2021, the second day of the General Meeting of the Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) took place in the form of a session “The role of science in overcoming pandemics and the post-crisis development of society”. The event was organized in a "hybrid" format: some members of the Academy of Sciences were in the Great Hall of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the rest participated in the meeting (with the ability to vote) online. The program of the event included 15 reports by the country's leading scientists regarding the covid-19 pandemic , covering economic, social, psychological, medical, veterinary and other aspects, as well as a discussion, the adoption of a resolution by the general meeting of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the scientific session, and the final speech of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Mikhailovich Sergeev.

The event was attended by DIRECTOR Petr Kosyrev and Deputy Director for Research Ilya Chvala, subordinated to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH. Vice-President, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Mikhailovna Donnik. In their report, a team of veterinary specialists presented data on the spread of coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2 in the world and RUSSIA, and their impact on animal productivity and health. The infection of COVID-19 in the veterinary aspect was covered in detail; issues of epizootology, diagnosis and prevention of the disease are touched upon.
