A farmer from the Lipetsk region breeds crayfish using grant funds

Alexander Nebogin from the Usmansky District is engaged in an unusual business - he breeds crayfish. And not ordinary ones, but Australian red-claw crayfish. "Their MEAT has a special texture, it is more tender, with large fibers. In structure, this meat resembles lobster, and in taste - crabs," Alexander clarified.
In 2023, the farmer became the recipient of the Agrostartup grant, which is issued within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship". With the funds received, Alexander Nebogin purchased fry, breeding stock, pools, filters, water heaters, compressors and other equipment. The farmer took the study of the process of growing crayfish very seriously. To maintain the temperature of the water in the pools and the air in the aquatic complex, split systems are used that can operate in cooling and heating mode. Artificial shelters in the form of homemade burrows are installed in the crayfish pools.
There are no problems with the sale of products. Alexander has his own store, as well as agreements with companies and farmers. They buy both crayfish and fry from him.
The Usman farmer is confident in the success of the business he has started. He plans to continue to develop his business .
