In the Rostov region, seasonal field work continues, aimed at harvesting the 2021 crop and laying the 2022 crop.
“Don agrarians continue harvesting and today the grain harvest, taking into account late crops, has already amounted to almost 13 million tons,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Don Governor, yesterday after the opening of the all-Russian exhibition Golden Autumn 2021. - This is not the final result, the harvest will still increase, as today a little more than 40% of the area under late grain crops has been harvested. it should be noted that the yield of late grain crops exceeds last year's figures by 10 centners per hectare.
According to operational data, out of 220 thousand hectares of late grain crops (corn, sorghum, rice, millet, buckwheat), the farms of the region harvested almost 92 thousand hectares. The gross harvest amounted to more than 305 thousand tons, the average yield was 33.3 q/ha.
“The harvesting of oilseeds also continues, the harvest of which has already been harvested from 50% of the harvested area. The yield of oilseeds exceeds last year's figures by 3.3 centners per hectare. To date, the farmers of the Don have already harvested more than 970,000 tons of crops such as sunflower, rapeseed, mustard, and flax,” Viktor Goncharov added.
In addition, Don farms continue to harvest vegetables, potatoes, fruit crops, and SUGAR beets.
At the same time, autumn sowing works are being activated in all districts of the Rostov region. More than 1.7 million hectares have already been sown with winter crops, which is almost 64% of the plan.
