Don veterinarians treated more than half a million farm animals against ticks

Spring anti-mite treatments are being carried out on the Don. The forces of municipal services are directed to combat blood-sucking parasites in cities and villages. Contributes to the well-being of the region and the state veterinary service.
So, to date, specialists subordinate to the veterinary department of the Rostov region of institutions have treated 578 thousand farm animals against ixodid ticks, of which 327 thousand heads of cattle and more than 251 thousand heads of small ruminants.
For processing, drugs are used to combat ectoparasites "Biorex-K 10%" and "Neostomazan".
Note that adult ticks parasitize farm animals from April to September. The peak of the number of ticks on animals is observed in May - June, so it is important to treat the livestock before this period.
Specialists of the Don Veterinary Service remind: grazing of animals that have not undergone anti-tick treatment, as well as grazing on untreated pastures, is prohibited. If any of the farmers have questions about this procedure, they can be asked by calling the hotlines of inter-district animal disease control stations.
We also note that in 2021, during the period of activity of ticks, veterinarians of the Rostov region carried out more than 3 million treatments of farm animals.
