In Yamal, it is planned to harvest 2,233 tons of reindeer MEAT by the end of the year, which is 200 tons more than last year.
Starting from 2020, on behalf of the Governor of Yamal, a new mechanism for state support of reindeer farms is being implemented in the district: for all reindeer farms, the purchase price of reindeer meat of the "free sale" category has been increased to 450 rubles. This measure had a positive impact on the volume of meat harvesting and led to a change in the quality of the delivered meat.
“Now we can say that in our district all municipalities are fully provided with capacities for slaughter and primary processing of reindeer meat in accordance with all veterinary and sanitary requirements. A whole network of certified slaughter and refrigeration complexes of 15 units has been created, which are as close as possible to the concentration of the raw material base of reindeer breeding,” said Viktor Yugay, DIRECTOR of the AIC Department of the YNAO.
The volume of meat for which reindeer herding farms can receive a higher price has increased significantly - from 67% to 86%. The amount of reindeer meat sold by private sector reindeer herders has also increased. And if earlier on the territory of Purovsky, Nadymsky and Shuryshkarsky districts this category of meat deliverers was absent, now they are actively participating in the process.
Fishery complex
To date, over 10,000 tons of fish have been caught in the region. The volume of industrial catch remains at a consistently high level. The leaders are the Tazovsky, Shuryshkarsky and Priuralsky regions, where in total more than 50% of the total volume was mined.
Particular attention is paid to the technical equipment of the fishing industry in the region. A new non-self-propelled isothermal vessel - a pontoons - was delivered to the district for the Baidaratsky state farm in the Priuralsky district. Modernization of three non-self-propelled refrigerated vessels for enterprises of the Tazovsky and Purovsky districts was carried out.
This season, the Sobsky fish hatchery released about 13 million muksun and whitefish juveniles into the Yamal rivers.
An important event in the region was the opening of a plant in the village of Tazovsky for breeding whitefish juveniles. Every year, the company plans to grow and release about 1.8 million whitefish and whitefish fry into the Taz River.
Processing of meat and fish products
The region is actively implementing support measures for the development of processing of agricultural products, including through the provision of grants for the creation of new and development of existing enterprises, as well as the expansion of the material and production base.
Since 2019, 11 projects have become winners of the selection for grants. Support was given to initiatives to develop the processing of meat and fish products in Yamal.
“For the third year, we have been implementing activities for grant support for projects for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Autonomous Okrug. This mechanism is aimed primarily at supporting interesting projects that are aimed at developing production and creating new jobs,” Viktor Yugay said.
Today, there are 11 enterprises producing products from venison and seven enterprises for processing fish products in Yamal. Thanks to the active district support, their number and capacity are increasing.
A meat processing workshop is being prepared for launch in the village of Kharp, a workshop for the production of sausage products is being built in Novy Urengoy, and the production of semi-finished venison products is planned to be launched in Tazovsky. The implementation of the project for the production of snack products in Salekhard is at the final stage.
National projects
Yamal participates in the implementation of the national projects "International Cooperation and Export" and "Small and Medium Business and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives."
Within the framework of the federal project "Acceleration of small and medium-sized businesses", this year six start-up farmers from Tazovsky, Shuryshkarsky, Nadymsky districts, as well as Salekhard in the amount of 14.3 million rubles received grants from Agrostartup to develop their production. Thanks to this support, new industries will be created in the field of animal husbandry, crop production, processing of meat and dairy products.
As part of the implementation of the federal project "Export of agricultural products", work continues on the certification of slaughter complexes for compliance with international requirements. Seven out of 15 operating slaughter complexes have already been certified for the right to EXPORT skins and offal. Currently, work is underway on two more enterprises.
Since last year, regional exports have been reoriented to increase supplies of non-food products of reindeer breeding abroad (by-products of the 3rd category, bones, deer skins). Previously, such products were disposed of (used for animal feed or destroyed by incineration). If in 2020 33 tons of non-edible by-products were exported, in 2021 - 78 tons. At the same time, the volume of exported venison has been reduced from 390 tons in 2020 to 238 tons in 2021.
Factory
Starting this year, on the initiative of Governor Dmitry Artyukhov, a new type of state support for grain producers at factories has been introduced in Yamal. Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who bake bread at factories were compensated for part of the costs, including utility bills, the purchase of FLOUR, taking into account transportation costs for its delivery, as well as the wages of bakers.
“Factors traditionally play an important role in providing the population in the inter-settlement territory with goods and services that are necessary for their livelihoods. Therefore, work in this area will be improved and carried out on an ongoing basis,” the HEAD of the department noted.
