
The winners of the district stage of the competition "Exporter of the Year" from the Chelyabinsk region in the nomination "Exporter of the Year in the field of agro-industrial complex" were four South Ural enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The first place in the category "small and medium-sized businesses" was taken by the Kopeysk agricultural holding "Sigma", which produces sunflower oil, the second place in this category was taken by the Chelyabinsk food enterprise "Medal". In the “big business” category, the second place is taken by the producer of cereals OOO Resurs (TM Uvelka) and IP Valeev T.R. (TM "Ura Confectioners"). It should be reminded that Sigma Holding became the winner of the Russian competition Exporter of the Year this year.
The awarding of the winners of the regional stage took place in Yekaterinburg, the awards were presented by Andrey Sukharev, Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Export Development of Agricultural Products of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The winners of the competition were congratulated by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk Region Inna Podshivalova: “The Chelyabinsk Region has favorable conditions for business development, including in the agro-industrial complex. This is once again confirmed by the recognition of our food producers at a prestigious competition, and these enterprises are diverse, they produce and export various products - from sunflower oil and oatmeal to cookies, cakes and food products from hemp seeds, in particular butter and chocolate paste . And the enterprises themselves are also different - these are both small businesses and large holdings that have a beneficial effect on the development of agriculture in the region.”
The Sigma agro-industrial holding includes several large production sites, the main of which is located in Kopeysk, a satellite city of Chelyabinsk. Both refined and unrefined oil is supplied to the Russian market and abroad. These products under the brands "Crown of Plenty", "Seven Sunflowers" and others have found their regular consumers in China, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, the countries of the Middle East, Central Asia and the Baltic states. “The award has become a new platform for testing the export potential of the company. All these years, Sigma has carried out branding in the markets of presence, took part in exhibition events, which made it possible to focus the strategy in the field of foreign trade development.
The Uvel company "Resurs" LLC in the regional stage of the competition took second place in the category of large business. This year, an enterprise producing cereals and grain flakes under the Uvelka brand expanded production by launching the first stage of a modern production and logistics complex, which includes an export-oriented oat processing workshop with high-tech equipment, an automated full-cycle high-rise warehouse and a complex of facilities for grain storage. The launch of this production will increase the production capacity for processing oats and the production of oatmeal at the enterprise by 2.7 times, and increase the volume of exports within five years to $45 million.
“We are export oriented. Oat flakes will be delivered to China , Vietnam, as well as India and African countries,” said Vitaly Zyablin, head of Resource LLC. “We intend to become the largest site for the production of oat products in Russia, and when a new stage of the production and logistics complex is opened, in Europe as well.”
The awarding of the winners of the "Exporter of the Year" competition took place in the press center of the Ural Regional Center TASS. Among the winners are nine exporting companies from four regions of the Urals Federal District. Enterprises engaged in metallurgy, woodworking, food production and other types of economic activity are recognized as the best in terms of export in the federal district. As Veronika Nikishina, General Director of the Russian Export Center (part of VEB.RF), said in her video message to the participants of the solemn event, these are companies that increase export supplies, enter new markets, and promote new Russian goods and services around the world: “I have everything reason to believe that exporters are talented, smart, tenacious and courageous people who are ready and able to compete in difficult markets.”
