The Chelyabinsk region is developing agricultural insurance with state support

SEC "Koelginskoe" named after I.N. Shundeev insured his cattle with state support - this is the first such example in the Chelyabinsk region since 2014. Last year, the region received gratitude from the National Union of Agricultural Insurers and the Federation Council for its high performance in farm animal insurance.
At the end of last year, the results in the field of agricultural insurance with state support were summed up, and the Chelyabinsk region was noted among the leaders in livestock insurance. As of December 1, 33 thousand heads of pigs and 16.7 million heads of poultry were insured in the region. The share of insured livestock in the total livestock population was 45.84%, which is 25.4% higher than the figure established by the federal Ministry of Agriculture. In 2023, 11.8 million rubles of regional and federal subsidies were allocated for the insurance of pigs and poultry.

But at the end of 2023, the Koelginskoye agricultural production company named after I.N. Shundeeva made a decision and insured for the first time since 2014 a livestock of 7.3 thousand heads of cattle . Animals are insured against death from contagious diseases and mass poisonings, natural disasters and other insured events of an emergency nature. At the expense of the federal and regional budgets, the company will be compensated for 50% of the costs of paying insurance premiums, the amount will be over 1 million rubles. In addition to compensating part of the cost of paying the insurance premium, agricultural insurance in dairy farming provides another additional advantage. Thus, when receiving a subsidy for sold MILK , an increasing coefficient is applied, that is, the farm will receive more funds for development.

In RUSSIA, reports the National Union of Agricultural Insurers in the official TG channel (https://t.me/agrostrahovanie_channel/3170), in livestock insurance, livestock coverage has reached a historical maximum and, as of December 1, 2023, under existing contracts, amounted to 42% of the country's industrial livestock . In pig and poultry farming, coverage exceeded 60%. “An important result of 2023 was the insurance of more than 18% of the industrial cattle population, which was also largely the result of incentive measures by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in this direction,” emphasized Korney Bizhdov, president of the National Union of Agricultural Insurers.

In 2024 , 38.4 million rubles were allocated from the budget to subsidize agricultural insurance in the Chelyabinsk region, including 18.4 million rubles planned to be allocated for insurance in crop production. Let us recall that since 2024, agricultural insurance has become one of the five priority areas of state support for Russian farmers.
