The Animal Treatment Center of the Ural Agrarian University celebrates its birthday

For 11 years, the Center has been helping animals in difficult life situations.
Previously, we have already addressed how the Center provides full assistance to stray animals: it conducts a full examination, treatment , if necessary, surgery, as well as rehabilitation and finding a home for the tailed animals.
It also hosts charity events for kindergartens, in order to socialize children with disabilities and help animals. The center regularly conducts educational “Lessons of Kindness”, where employees tell children about how animals go outside, how to prevent it and how they can help.
But students of the Ural Agrarian University play an important role in the life and work of the Animal Prevention Center.
“The main goals of the Animal Therapy Center are to provide assistance to stray animals and train veterinary students. It is important that future veterinarians carefully monitor the entire process of treating the animal and independently take part in it. There is an opinion that students treat animals on their own and conduct experiments on them - this, of course, is a myth. Each pet is supervised by an experienced veterinarian , and students perform dressings, injections and assist in operations. Thus, we provide assistance to those who need it, and students gain invaluable experience for development in their profession,” explained the HEAD of the USAU Animal Control Center Elizaveta Skorynina.
We decided to meet with the students of the Ural State Agrarian University to talk a little about our tasks and goals in the life of the Center.
“CRJ has become a special expression for me. At first you just help the stomachs, but then you become attached to each of them. So, at first I was the curator of Dog Matchmaker, and now I took him to my home! Now I spend a lot of time with my dog Martha, she is extraordinary - smart and well-mannered. She and I walk a lot and even go to a cafe sometimes! The Center staff are kind and welcoming. After our walks, we come to chat with Elizaveta Valerievna. I come to the Center not only for a couple, but also in my free time. It's a good break after studying. Now my friend and I are filming a social video about the Animal Treatment Center so that more people learn about the problems of homeless animals and get to know pets better,” shared Vlada Lebedeva, a touching 1st year student of secondary vocational education.
Daria Gamova, a 6th year student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Expertise, told us about how the couple goes through the VCR: “We study all the animal’s systems: we conduct palpation, determine breathing processes and heartbeats, and also assess the visual state of the animal’s HEALTH.We also walk, feed and help while waiting.”
Elena Sergeevna Vasilko, a veterinarian at the Animal Rehabilitation Center, told a few short stories about the observation at the Center for Animal Rehabilitation:
“Uncle the cat was brought from Anapa by caring people. He was found emaciated, weak and with bad hair. During the diagnosis, it was determined that his cat had infectious peritonitis. Previously, the drug was inaccessible due to the price , but now such an opportunity has arisen, so the cat was provided with the necessary treatment, and now he is practically healthy. The cat Hustle has the same diagnosis, he is also healthy and looking for a home. The dog Mukhtar was picked up from a pen with a large bite wound. Due to the extent of the damage and the large portion of the muscle involved, the wound cannot be simply sutured. Therefore, Mukhtar undergoes a long rehabilitation to “build up” his muscles with daily bandages. Also this year, we received the dog Swat from PKS in Kamyshlov. He was diagnosed with colitis and flea dermatitis. Now he is healthy and has already found a new home,” Elena Sergeevna shared. Yes, this is the same Matchmaker you read about above, his new owner is student Vlada.
Elena also told us that three USAU students, members of the “Hey-Hey” club - Ksenia, Ruslan and Sofia, participated in canicross with dogs from the Central Russian Federation.
For reference: Canicross is a running discipline of sledding dogs. is a run with a dog.
Over the years, the Center has received a presidential grant, thanks to which veterinarians sterilize animals of low-income citizens free of charge and conduct educational activities in orphanages.
This year, the Sushkoff and Pizza restaurant chain held a charity event to raise funds for the purchase of food and medicine. As a result of the campaign, one and a half tons of food and various necessary medications were given to domestic animals.
The USAU Animal Rehabilitation Center exists because of the sacrifices of caring citizens and is always ready to provide any assistance. Animals constantly need specialized food, medicines , ammunition and medical supplies. In addition, here you can also volunteer help (play, walk, scratch, etc.)
you can bring what you need during the opening hours of the Center for Animal Rehabilitation, or put any amount into your online wallet, as well as donate unnecessary waste paper (100 kg of waste paper feeds one animal throughout the whole series). month). You can get more detailed information on the CRG website www.crg-ekb.ru and by phone +7 (912) 667-00-70.
