Prices for laboratory tests of milk for owners of household plots have been halved

The need to reduce prices for private traders is ripe due to the expansion of the list of tests that, according to the law, must be taken from each farmstead, and as a result, the increased financial burden on farmers.

Thus, the main document regulating the circulation of dairy products is Technical Regulation 033/2013 “On the safety of milk and dairy products”. According to the Technical Regulations, dairy products must undergo full veterinary control.

Products arriving at the milk receiving point must have documentation of the well-being of the farm in which raw milk is produced . Milk supply is possible only from those household plots and peasant farms where the animals have undergone planned anti-epizootic measures. In addition, raw milk should only be supplied with veterinary accompanying documents.

The certificate of veterinary and sanitary well-being on the dairy farms of suppliers must include data on the results of laboratory tests of milk, incl. on the number of microorganisms (QMAFAnM, pathogenic, including salmonella), somatic cells.

Studies on the above indicators are carried out on a paid basis. According to the price list for paid veterinary services provided by the Rostov Regional SBBZH, the total cost of the above services was 790 rubles.

Owners of household plots began to complain that high prices hinder the sale of milk, and asked for easing conditions. This problem was taken under special control by the Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev.

On behalf of the HEAD of the region, the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Rostov Region and the Rostov Regional SBBZh considered the possibility of changing prices for owners of household plots. Since September 13, the prices for laboratory testing of milk for household plots have been halved by the Rostov Regional Station for the Control of Animal Diseases.
