
In Kabardino-Balkaria, over 7,000 hectares of irrigated agricultural land were brought into use in 2025 thanks to the installation of sprinkler machines and drip irrigation systems.
The largest amount of irrigated land was added last year in the Prokhladnensky District – approximately 5,200 hectares. Over 560 hectares were brought into use in the Leskensky District. In the Baksansky and Maysky Districts, land reclamation projects were carried out on an area of 460 hectares and 450 hectares, respectively.
In the Tersky District, irrigated land increased by almost 360 hectares last year, in the Chegemsky District by 100 hectares, and in the Urvansky District by 40 hectares.
Irrigated land is primarily used for growing grain crops, particularly corn, as well as vegetables, fruits, and berries .
