More than 13 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables and green crops were collected in the Lipetsk region in January of this year

The region continues to hold first place in the country in the production of vegetables in closed greenhouses.
According to operational data, in four greenhouse complexes in the first month of 2024 , 13.2 thousand tons of cucumbers, tomatoes and salads were collected, which corresponds to the level of last year.
“For several years in a row, our region has topped the list of leading regions in the production of greenhouse vegetables,” said Alexey Telkov, HEAD of the regional agriculture department. – This is achieved due to the fact that all our greenhouse complexes are of the 4th and 5th generation. In them, from 1 square meter you can collect almost 2 times more products than in conventional greenhouses.”
Cucumbers and salads in the Lipetsk region are grown in the Yeletsk district. In January, 5.3 thousand tons and 600 tons were collected, respectively. Greenhouse complexes in the Dankovsky, Khlevensky and Usmansky districts specialize in tomatoes. There, 7.3 thousand tons were received in a month.
