In 2025 , 23 farms and 11 agricultural consumer cooperatives in the Ivanovo Region received state support in the form of grants and subsidies.
"Small businesses can take advantage of all state support measures available for the industry. Additionally, targeted instruments, including grants and subsidies, are available for this segment. In 2025, targeted support for small agribusinesses amounted to 173 million rubles," reported Sergei Bubnov, a member of the Ivanovo Region government and director of the regional Department of Agriculture and Food.
Farmers account for approximately 7% of total agricultural production in the Ivanovo Region. However, in certain areas, the share of farm output is significantly higher. For example, they account for the majority of potato, vegetable, and berry production. In the first nine months of this year, farmers in the Ivanovo Region increased their agricultural production by 21.6% in comparable prices compared to the same period in 2024.
In recent years, farms in the region have been exploring new areas of activity. Significant progress has been made in the production of cheeses, vegetables, and herbs in greenhouses, floriculture, and the processing of herbs and berries.
This year, 16 aspiring farmers received Agrostartup grants to develop their businesses. Using the grant funds, these rural entrepreneurs are implementing projects to grow berries in greenhouses and open fields, vegetables and garlic, produce milk, and raise cattle and small ruminants, and purchase agricultural machinery and equipment.
Three farms received grants for family farm development in 2025, which are supporting them in expanding berry and vegetable production, building feed storage facilities, and tunnel greenhouses.
This year, a new type of government support was introduced for farmers—a subsidy to partially reimburse family farm expenses, which four farms have benefited from. Eleven agricultural consumer cooperatives received
subsidies to partially reimburse the costs of purchasing agricultural machinery and processing equipment. One of them also won a competitive selection of grant recipients for agricultural consumer cooperatives to develop their material and technical infrastructure. The cooperative members will use the grant funds to develop a berry growing and storage project.
