Belgorod farmers have started the sowing campaign

Traditionally, it starts in the south-east of the region, in the Veydelevsky district, at the moment more than half of the municipalities are involved in the spring sowing. According to operational data, as of March 31, 10.6 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown, which is 3% of the planned.
In total, 417 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops (including: barley - 104 thousand hectares, corn - 143 thousand hectares) and 550 thousand hectares of industrial crops (including: sunflower - 177 thousand ha, soybean - 310 thousand ha and sugar beet - 57 thousand ha).
For the harvest of 2023 in the fall of 2022, 280 thousand hectares of winter crops were sown on all categories of farms. Works on their top dressing are being completed - almost 250 thousand hectares, or 89% of the planned amount, have been fed by the current date.
