In the Stavropol Territory, all urban and municipal districts have completed the sowing of winter crops on a total area of 2.1 million hectares.

Sowing of winter wheat, barley and rapeseed was carried out with high-quality seed material, while 83 thousand tons of a.i. were introduced into the soil. mineral fertilizers or 50 kg of a.i. per 1 ha, which made it possible to provide a supply of nutrients before going into the winter.

Favorable weather conditions and compliance with a set of agrotechnological measures made it possible for crops to grow by 92%. To date, 100% shoots have already been received in 7 districts: in Apanasenkovsky, Arzgirsky, Neftekumsky, Turkmensky, Aleksandrovsky, Blagodarnensky, Kursky.

“The condition of 8% of unsprouted seedlings is not of great concern due to the sufficient presence of moisture in the soil and the tendency to warm winters. These factors make it possible to predict the imminent emergence of seedlings, the state of which will be determined by the weather conditions of winter and the beginning of the resumption of spring vegetation, ”said Elena Tambovtseva, head of the crop production department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.

At the moment, the beginning of tillering is observed on crops of winter grains at the September sowing dates, on crops of the second decade of October - 2-3 leaves, and at the end of October - the awl stage.

In Blagodarnensky Okrug this year, grain growers sowed winter crops on an area of 92.9 thousand hectares and have already received a 100% result. According to experts, the main part of winter crops is in good and satisfactory condition here. The position of winter crops is better than last year and average indicators for recent years. This also applies to winter rapeseed, the seedlings of which received a satisfactory assessment from specialists.
“Grateful agrarians this year were lucky with the weather. In addition, they prepared high-quality seeds, fertilizers, machinery and other resources of enterprises in advance for the main agricultural campaign of the year. All this allowed the grain growers to lay the foundation for the next year's grain harvest in the optimal time frame. And the result is obvious - by the beginning of the third decade of November, the main array of winter wheat crops is in the tillering phase (2-3 stalks) - the optimal stage of plant development before wintering,” said Vyacheslav Gladchenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Blagodarnensky District.

In CJSC Kamennobalkovskoye, Blagodarnensky District, the main area of farmland is sown with winter wheat of the elite varieties Yuka, Tanya, Alekseich, Bezostaya 100 according to semi-fallow and fallow predecessors. On the whole, friendly, timely seedlings were obtained on the entire winter wedge.

“In the crop-growing sector of agricultural enterprises, today we successfully combine the no-tillage system - a technology in which the top layer of soil is almost not cultivated, and its surface is covered with mulch with classic old-fashioned plowing with a moldboard plow with layer turnover. To increase soil fertility before plowing, we apply organic fertilizer to the fields and annually we get a decent result in terms of grain yields,” Sergey Merkushev, director of Kamennobalkovskoye CJSC, emphasized.
