Farmers of the Ivanovo region will increase the sown area of ​​the main crops for the 2024 harvest

In 2024 , the sown area will be 200.5 thousand hectares in farms of all categories, which is 1.3 thousand hectares more than last year. An increase in plantings is predicted for the grain group, industrial crops, potatoes and vegetables.
For the 2024 harvest, winter grain crops were sown on an area of ​​24.9 thousand hectares. 99.8% of crops are in good and satisfactory condition.
“The main task of this year’s sowing campaign is to carry out spring sowing on an area of ​​almost 80 thousand hectares. Preparations for field work are proceeding as usual, farmers purchase the required amount of seeds, fuel, mineral fertilizers and continue to build up reserves. Thus, the supply of seeds for spring grain and leguminous crops is 100%. Farmers have 1.6 thousand tractors, which is higher than last year,” noted Sergei Bubnov, member of the government of the Ivanovo region, DIRECTOR of the regional department of agriculture and food.
This year, 6.5 million rubles are allocated for carrying out a complex of agrotechnological work in crop production; the funds will be sent to farmers by April 1. In addition, until May 1, federal budget subsidies in the amount of 15.4 million rubles will be provided: for the production and sale of grain crops - 7.9 million rubles, to stimulate an increase in the production of potatoes and vegetables - 7.5 million rubles.
Let us recall that at the end of 2023, a record grain harvest was obtained in crop production - 192.3 thousand tons in weight after processing, which is almost 40% higher than the level of 2022 and 54.5% more than the average gross grain harvest over the past five years.
