Aberdeen Angus, breeding cows and heifers at Pioneer breeding farm. Black angus in the pasture.

PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to publish videos from the AgroExpedition "Agriculture of Tatarstan-2021". Today we will see breeding cows and heifers of the Aberdeen Angus breed on the pasture.
On the green alfalfa we see grazing cows with calves up to 6-7 months old. These cows are not milked, all their MILK is drunk by the calves. At about 7-8 months of age, calves begin to be beaten off from cows. Of course, cows do not graze on alfalfa, in this case they were released especially for us for a juicy picture.
There are natural reservoirs on the territory of the pasture: rivers and springs, so the organization of any additional watering system is not required. Twice a year, the farm takes water for further analysis of its suitability for drinking livestock.
Grazing is not fed with grain. After beating the calves, they are transferred to the corrals, where livestock specialists begin to work with them. At the same time, heifers are not given grain so that they do not get fat and can calmly inseminate and calve in the future. But bulls, on the contrary, need to gain mass as quickly as possible.
A month and a half before slaughter, livestock specialists begin to carry out the so-called final fattening of bulls. Compound feed is additionally included in the diet. And the total mass of fodder per day per HEAD can reach up to 6-8 kilograms.
After beating, the bulls are kept in another branch of the farm, 10 kilometers from the pasture. This is due to the fact that the bulls could not return and cover the heifers, since the pioneer farm has a breeding status, and all mating processes are strictly controlled.
Demand for breeding animals is as high as for slaughter. People come and buy breeding bulls and heifers for their farms for various purposes. So far, the farm manages to completely close the demand without additional queue lists.
Grazing of the herd is carried out both with the help of electric shepherds and with the help of shepherds. For shepherds, even from an old bus, a mobile van was converted into a field to create comfortable working conditions.
